Top 3 Free SEO Friendly WordPress Themes

by Jay Venka on September 15, 2014

WordPress themes are fun and it is interesting to have a new look to your blogs by constantly looking out for a clean, fast loading, wordpress theme that has pleasing appearance as well.

Another major factor that is missed out usually when finalizing a theme is the SEO friendly options the theme has inbuilt.

There are pretty good paid SEO friendly themes out, but off late using them I found out they are no different from free wordpress themes that are available in wordpress.org directory.

1. Pagelines theme:

Pagelines is one of the premium wordpress theme out there, but very few know of its free version available which is as good as the paid one.

Pagelines theme free version can be downloaded form wordpress.org directory from below link.

2. Twenty ten:

Twenty ten used to be the default wordpress theme along with wordpress install until Twenty eleven replaced it, Twenty twelve is in the beta now. but Twenty ten has some clean SEO friendly layouts which makes it a good free SEO theme to consider.

3. Thematic wordpress Theme:

Thematic is more of a framework where you can build your own child themes and customization. But still with no customizations and default options the theme looks like a perfect minimalistic wordpress  SEO friendly theme.

More options can be confusing, instead of a constant hunt for best wordpress themes trying the three free themes above and working on content and ranking your blogs will add more to your bottomline. Not to mention the above listed themes do outperform some of the paid themes out there.

Perhaps an article on what a SEO theme contains that makes it a SEO friendly theme over a wordpress theme that is not would help

Hi Monika,
I get your emails regularly. Thanks.
I am not sure about free themes. If you are building a serious website isn’t it worthwhile making an investment in a good quality paid theme from a company that will provide ongoing support?
Regards,
Les

Hi Les,

Thanks for your comment. You are right, if your running a serious business its worth the investment in it.

But just because a theme is free itself doesn’t make it less worth. Of course the thtmes mentioned above are far better than many paid themes out there. After all Wordpress is itself open source and free blog software.

The above three themes are worth considering for your blog if you are looking for a nice free SEO friendly wordpress theme. You always have mpro themes with loaded features and support. Just giving you options..

Thanks
Jay Venka

Thank you very much for the info. I installed the Pagelines theme and I love it. I was looking for one and did not want to use Twenty Twelve, or Arras. This is great.
peronalizar your code is easy and has many options for people who do not know CSS or PHP. thanks
